Secondary Assemblies...
A big part of what I do is to deliver assemblies and acts of worship in both primary and secondary schools. These assemblies are designed to share my Christian perspective on key words, themes, issues, experiences and stories that we encounter in life or in the Bible. Sometimes these themes are set by schools, sometimes they are based on the calendar, and at others they are just whatever comes to mind!
Some of these are written specifically for use in a Christian school context where I am encouraged (if not expected) to quote directly from the Bible and to pray. Others are delivered in environments where my perspective is encouraged but the expectation is that the themes are accessible to those from all faiths and none.
The videos below will have been specifically recorded for one or other of those contexts, and where the same assembly has been delivered in multiple schools, the actual delivery may have varied to take into account the expectations and invitation of the school.
I find it helpful to draw upon contemporary resources that children and young people may be familiar with, and sometimes choose to present a different Christian perspective to what they may or may not be familiar with.
What follows, colour co-ordinated depending on age group, but sorted with the most recent first, are a number of my most recent assemblies which have been recorded for delivery at home or in school during times when visits into assemblies have been prohibited.
Feel free to engage with these as you need to. Some will be embedded from YouTube, and others will be uploaded directly and downloadable. For some you may just want to use the illustrations and starting points. That's fine too!
