Everyday Encounter...
|
Now this is something I wrestle with a lot as I do assemblies in schools and work with young people. I'm acutely aware of the world that I have inherited from my elders, the good, the bad and the ugly of it. And I'm increasingly deliberate in not wanting to just pass the buck of responsibility for changing it to those I work with. Don't get me wrong... It needs changing, and much of that change will come through those who are seeing this world through the eyes of a child, but that's a huge responsibility and burden to put on them. The challenge for us older and grumblier types is threefold: 1. To make a start; 2. To work out how we stop them being overwhelmed by the task at hand 3. To ensure we prepare them to be game changers and world shapers. The world does not yet belong to me,
But still my responsibility to right what is wrong with everything I see. The eyes of a child see only what is real.
